Surrounding area. The house sits on a residential street and abuts the family home of the owners and their small family run motel. There is a sandbox, swing set. Basketball court and playhouse next door as part of the motel complex and guests at the cottage are welcome to use them. Motel pool open Memorial Day to end of September also open to guests at the cottage. It is a natural, wooded setting ideal for nature lovers and shared with birds, bunnies and squirrels.

Eastham sits mid-way down the Cape at the “elbow” between Hyannis and Provincetown and is an ideal location from which to explore the entire Cape. Provincetown and Wellfleet are renowned for their art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. Hyannis is the best location to take high speed and regular ferries over to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. (Discount coupons available in the motel office).

Birdwatchers can access the shore from our private grassy beach just a three-minute walk from the cottage. Also we are just 15 minutes from the Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary, which has been newly renovated.

Kayaking and Canoeing is suggested from our private beach on Eastham Town Cove. The water is shallow so less fear provoking for novice paddlers and a small uninhabited island sits directly across from our access and is an ideal place to eat a picnic lunch.

Nearby Attractions: Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Cape Cod National Seashore (Visitor's Center with free museum and miles of natural walking trails and beaches nearby). Chatham, Eastham, Orleans, Wellfleet and Provincetown for shopping and dining. Mini-golf and arcades in both Eastham and Orleans. Pizza delivery from both Eastham and Orleans. Audubon Sanctuary with miles of natural walking trails and beautiful views is located nearby in Wellfleet. Art Galleries galore in all surrounding towns. Windmill green in Eastham often hosts weekend concerts and art shows and is a great place to take a picnic lunch. Large supermarkets and other stores nearby in Orleans. Many seafood and other specialty restaurants are located nearby in Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet.
